Every summer, Langhorne Heritage Farm hosts community gardeners from throughout the area. The Community Gardens started out in 1986 with eight plots. Today, 100 plots are rented out for flower and vegetable gardening. The community gardens are 100% organic, as the use of herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers are prohibited.

Rental Fee: 
$50 per plot (see plot map below)
$100 returnable security deposit
$20 Non-member fee

Dimensions
Each garden plot is approx. 20’ x 20’ and is located at 222 North Green Street, Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

The plots shall be assigned by the garden manager prior to the start of the gardening season.

Included with the plot fee is a thorough rototilling and chiseling of the soil, performed in the spring just prior to opening day.
Note that Sections A, B, F, and G are No-Till sections, per gardeners’ preference.
Also, for the convenience of the gardeners, nine water taps are located throughout the field. Our gardeners take care to water wisely and conserve this most precious resource.

Garden plots are assigned as follows: 
Returning gardeners from last year who submit a paid application by March 7th will receive first priority. The remaining available plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date paid applications are received. You will be notified by April 1st whether you have been assigned a garden plot. Those who are not assigned a plot will receive a full credit card refund. Depending on weather conditions, the gardening season usually starts in the first or second week of April.

Returning Gardeners from the 2025 season:  You may sign up starting March 1, but no later than March 7 in order to receive priority plot assignments.

Gardeners who were not with us for the 2025 season may sign up starting March 8. Available plots will be assigned on a first-come/first-serve basis.
